On 21 June 2018 – 16.00 hrs. Maris Sangiampongsa, Ambassador of Thailand to Canada, together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Toronto, and Thai Trade Centre, Toronto, organized a Launch Reception to celebrate the 5th Destination Thailand festival at Pai Northern Thai Kitchen in Toronto. Ambassador Maris teamed up with a Celebrity Chef, Nuit Nongluck, the owner of Pai, to demonstrate how to make Gung Pad Kaprao or stir-fired shrimp basil, one of the most a popular Thai dishes, in front of nearly 50 guests who were very interested in the cooking demonstration. During the reception, Ambassador warmly welcomed the guests while promoting Thainess through Thai food. He also pointed out that Thailand is not only a holiday destination but also a country where many opportunities can be developed between Canada and Thailand in the levels of government, business and people connections.
The guests also had an opportunity to meet with the executives of travel agencies and Thai goods importing companies such as CPF Canada and Ti-Foods who also came to support and promote
