Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal

On 2 April 2018, H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal on the occasion of H.E. Mr. Gyawali’s new appointment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal. Both sides discussed their cordial and close diplomatic relations which has entered the 59th year, exchanges of high-level visits as well as preparation for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Nepal in 2019. Ambassador Tanskul also mentioned that this year, the Royal Thai Government is planning to support UNDP and IOM USD 2 million per organization on their post-earthquake livelihood recovery and the building community resilience projects in areas affected by the earthquake in 2015. The Royal Thai Government will also provide USD 1.49 million to the Government of Nepal to restore the Mahadev Temple in Kathmandu. Furthermore, both sides discussed the strengthening of cooperation in education, opportunities in trade, investment and tourism as well as the organization of the 5th Joint Commission Meeting between Thailand and Nepal. This discussion took place in a timely manner as it helps to boost the dynamism of diplomatic relations and friendship between the two countries after the establishment of the new Government of Nepal.
