Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal attended the campaign for establishing One Thousand Buddha in support of International Monastic Buddhist College

            On 15 January 2017, H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal attended the campaign for establishing One Thousand Buddha at the International Monastic Buddhist College (IMBC), which aimed to raise financial support for the construction of a new International Monks’ Residential Building, dedicated to the Most Venerable Somdej Phra Maha Rajjamangalacarya, Abbot of Paknam Bhasicharoen Temple. Venerable Dr. Bhikku Praghyalok Maha Thera, Founder President of IMBC presided over the opening ceremony at which Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal and more than 100 people were also present. Ambassador Tanskul congratulated the IMBC for initiating the campaign on the occasion of the 61st birthday anniversary of Venerable Praghyalok and reaffirmed the Embassy’s willingness to continue working with IMBC to promote education for monks and novices in Nepal as well as other dimensions in Buddhist cooperation. The presence of Ambassador Tanskul at this event helped to reinforce the people-to-people contact and enhance future collaboration in Buddhism between Thailand and Nepal.
