H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, will attend the 13th ASEM Foreign Ministers Meeting (ASEM FMM 13) in Nay Pyi Taw, Republic of the Union ofMyanmar, during 20 – 21 November 2017. In this regard, the Foreign Minister will present Thailand’s vision towards the meeting’s theme on “Strengthening Partnership for Peace and Sustainable Development”.
Apart from that, the Foreign Minister will have bilateral meetings with other head of delegates to strengthen cooperation and relations between Thailand and other ASEM countries. Moreover, he will meet with the two Thai university students attending the 8th Model ASEM together with students from 51 ASEM countries. The Model ASEM is annually organized by the Asia – Europe Foundation (ASEF) as one of the sideline events of the ministerial meeting and summit.
The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is a platform for dialogue between Asia and Europe to discuss issues of mutual interest. ASEM aims to strengthen relations, promote cooperation and deepen understanding between ASEM partners in (1) political, (2) economic and (3) social-cultural aspects. Cooperation and activities of ASEM involves participation from government sectors, civil society and private sectors at all levels.
