Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in cooperation with Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies (PSDS), Thammasat University, Mekong Institution and Chiang Mai University, organizes international training courses for developing partners namely Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East, America, South Pacific, and Europe to share Thailand’s expertise and experiences with an aim to promote and attain sustainable development goals (SDGs) through constructive collaboration between Thailand and developing partners. Three international training courses during September – October 2017 are offered as follows:

(1) “Moving towards SDGs via Corporate Social Responsibility and Sufficiency Economy Philosophy” during 4 – 15 September 2017” in cooperation with Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies (PSDS), Thammasat University. Attending are 20 participants from 20 countries. This course aims at bringing together international participants to learn first-handed experience on how the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy or SEP can be applied to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept in promoting sustainable development. It is expected that “SEP”, as Thailand’s home-grown development model, will inspire participants to apply the concept to CSR initiative of their respective countries, and will be part of Thailand’s contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) No. 17 “Partnership for the Goals”.

(2) “Gender Equality and Women Empowerment: Sharing Good Practices and Experiences of Thailand” during 11 – 22 September 2017 in cooperation with Mekong Institution. Attending are 18 participants from 18 countries. This course aims at sharing Thailand’s experience and promoting good practices on gender equality. Experiences and knowledge shared during the course will be part of Thailand’s contribution to the global effort in achieving Development Goal (SDG) No. 5 on Gender Equality.

(3) “Diversified Farming Practices using Partipatory Approach for Food Security and Safety” during 24 September – 15 October 2017 in cooperation with Chiang Mai University. Attending are 20 participants from 19 countries. This course aims at promoting diversified farming practices, especially, importance of partipatory approach in agricultural practices. This training course will as well be part of Thailand’s contribution to the global effort in achieving Sustainable Development Goals No. 1 “No Poverty”.

During January – August 2017, TICA has been providing training courses under the programme “Annual International Training Course (AITC)” to 396 participants from 93 countries. AITC is a vital tool in strengthening cooperation between Thailand and strategic countries as well as increasing Thailand’s role in the international platform.
