Thailand to provide International Training Courses on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP)

          Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in cooperation with Kasetsart University, Naresuan University,  Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, and Khon Kaen University  will organize international training courses for developing partners namely Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East, America, South Pacific, and Europe to share Thailand’s expertise and experience as well as the theme “Sufficiency Economy Philosophy or SEP” with an aim to promoting and achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) through constructive collaboration between Thailand and developing partners. Five international training courses in July 2017 are offered as follows:
          (1) “Sufficiency Economy Practices in Community-based and Economic Development” during 3 July – 4 August 2017 at Kasetsart University, Thailand. Attending are 19 participants from 18 countries. This course aims at bringing together international participants to have first-handed experience on how the universal values of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy or SEP are crucial to community-based and economic development.
          (2) “Modern Technology for Sustainable Agricultural Systems” during 4 – 20 July 2017 at Naresuan University, Thailand. Attending are 20 participants from 20 countries. This course aims at sharing the application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy as sustainable agricultural development model as well as Thailand’s best practices and experiences regarding concept and application of modern agricultural technology for sustainable agriculture.
          (3) “Toward a One Health Approach to Antimicrobial Resistance” during 3 – 27 July 2017 at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Attending are 20 participants from 17 countries. This course aims at sharing knowledge and application of “One Health” approach for controlling and preventing of antimicrobial resistance.
          (4) “Promoting Healthy Communities through Community Health Management and Empowerment” during 3 – 21 July 2017 at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Attending are 13 participants from 12 countries. This course aims at sharing Thailand’s best practices and experiences in community health care management.
          (5) “Sustainable Animal Production and resource Management for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Safety” during 3 – 28 July 2017 at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. Attending are 20 participants from 16 countries. This course aims at sharing Thailand’s best practices and experiences in sustainable agricultural system for livestock and aquaculture production.
 
          Between 2012 – April 2017, TICA has been providing training courses under the programme “Annual International Training Course (AITC)” to 1,280 participants from 99 countries. AITC is a vital tool in strengthening cooperation between Thailand and strategic countries as well as increasing Thailand’s role 
in the international platform.
