On Wednesday 21 September 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Thai Chef Community of Abu Dhabi jointly organized for the second time a Thai Halal Cooking Class for the Spouses of ASEAN Ambassadors to the UAE and members of the Abu Dhabi Women Center which was led by Mrs Mona Al Qamsi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Women Center. The attendees of the event were 40 persons.

H.E. Komate Kamalanavin, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Arab Emirates and Mrs. Chanida Kamalanavin, Spouse of the Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE welcomed all the attendees and informed the purpose of the event that the Thai Halal Cooking Class aims to promote Thai Halal cuisine to the Emirati public and Muslim people to enjoy Thai Halal food not only at a Thai restaurant but also in their own home as well as exchange and share Thai, Emirati and ASEAN culture.

The cooking class started with a Thai Crab Cake, Chicken Wrapped with pandanus leaf, Chu Chi Goong and Sticky rice with mangos, demonstrated by chefs representing the Thai Chef Community of Abu Dhabi. The event ended with a Thai halal lunch. Members of the Thai Women Association in Abu Dhabi also participated in this event to assist Spouse of ASEAN Ambassadors and members of Abu Dhabi Women Center to learn how to cook Thai halal food.

In additional, at the event, a Thai massage corner was available for the attendees who would like to try an authentic traditional Thai massage.
