            The Muaythai delegation, led by Mr. Sane Tubtimtong, Grand Master and founder of Siamyout Thai Martial Arts and Culture Academy and Mr. Wittawat Ka-Som (Kru Din), Master and founder of Lanna Fighting Muaythai Training Camp, together with their Muaythai athletes, was invited to Muscat during 26 - 27 August 2016 to participate in the Muaythai Roadshow in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries.  The Roadshow in Oman was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Thailand Foundation, the Royal Thai Embassy in Muscat and Oman Fighting Championship, which is a private company providing advertising services for local clubs and local martial artists.  It is aimed at promoting “Thainess” through Muaythai, as well as to make the authenticity of Muaythai techniques and styles known amongst residents in Muscat for the first time.
             On 26 August 2016, a Muaythai workshop was organized at the Champ Sports and Arts gym and attended by over 80 Muaythai enthusiasts. On 27 August 2016, 2 rounds of Muaythai Showcase were presented at the Muscat Grand Mall with over 200 audiences per round.  Some noteworthy figures included His Highness Sayid Mohamed bin Salim Al Said, Ambassador attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Shiekh Nizar Al Shanfari, an executive of the Shanfari Group – A group of leading companies operating business in fields of infrastructure, automotive, as well as Oil & Gas – and Japanese Ambassador, just to name a few.
             On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Jesda Katavetin, Ambassador of Thailand to Oman delivered his opening speech emphasizing history, characteristic as well as the high regard of Muaythai in Thailand.  He also wished that Muaythai become more popular internationally.
