          Pursuant to the upcoming Referendum on Sunday 7 August 2016, some foreign embassies’ have advised foreign nationals during their visit to Thailand to avoid areas which may have political gatherings and to monitor news.

          The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand would like to reaffirm that at present there is no indication of any unrest or violence occurring. Throughout this week, there are a series of extensive and inclusive process of hearings, public seminars and open debates on the draft constitution with all stakeholders taking part throughout the country peacefully.

          Additionally, all authorities concerned are monitoring the situation closely and are implementing full measures to protect the safety of all citizens, including Foreign Embassies in Thailand, foreigners reside in Thailand and foreign tourists. Hence, all sectors can be reassured of the safety measures currently in place.
