On 9 - 10 July 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy in Bern organized the 19th Thai Festival, an annual event to promote Thailand, featuring more than 100 stalls of Thai food, handicrafts, Thai spa services as well as Thai delicacies cooking/ fruit carving demonstration and cultural performances.  The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Nopadol Gunavibool, Ambassador of Thailand to Switzerland, and attended by Mr. Urs Wilk, Councillor of Koniz Municipality and members of diplomatic corps. This annual event has become a popular fixture in Bern with more than 30,000 visitors each year.
