           On 7 July 2016, H.E. Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, attended the Official Opening Ceremony of the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Brisbane.  More than 80 guests were invited to this event, namely Mr. Peter Dutton, Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Ms. Grace Grace, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, Mr. Adrian Schrinner, Deputy Mayor of Brisbane, Consular Corps, and representatives from public and private sectors, and Thai community in Queensland. 
          The Ambassador gave a speech on the pivotal role of Thai Honorary Consulate in protecting Thailand’s interests and promoting relationship between Thailand and Queensland. The guests enjoyed very much the Thai food and Thai traditional music during the event.
           During the visit to Brisbane, the Ambassador also opened the 2nd Annual Conference in 2016 for Thai Scholarship Students in Australia and New Zealand as well as attended the opening of a new office of Thai Airway International in Brisbane."
