           On 18 June 2016, Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Consul-General, Los Angeles, led the Consulate-General's officials, Members of Team Thailand and the Thai community in Los Angeles and surrounding areas to commemorate “The Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej Accession to the Throne” at Thailand Plaza, Thai Town, Los Angeles.
           The ceremony started at 8.39 hrs. Consul-General and Thai participants presented food offerings and various necessities to the 49 monks. Consul-General presided over the merit making and well-wishing ceremony.
           The Consul-General paid tribute to His Majesty the King and expressed on behalf of Thai people in Los Angeles and nearby areas the highest respect and deepest gratitude for His Majesty’s tireless efforts and life-long dedication to the improvement of Thai people’s well-being and the development of the country.
            The Buddhist ceremony and prayer wishing His Majesty the King’s long reign and happiness was led by Phra Thep Mongkol Vithes (Luangphor Yai) Lord Abbot of Wat Thai of Los Angeles. Approximately 150 people joined this auspicious occasion.
