On Saturday 4 June 2016, H.E. Mr. Thongchai Chasawath, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, presided over the flag-off ceremony of the 31-car caravan of Porsche Club Singapore that took part in the Club’s Drive of the Year (DOTY) 2016’s Singapore – Songkhla – Phuket – Penang – Singapore route during 5-11 June 2016. The activity was supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s Singapore Office. At the event, Ambassador gave welcoming remarks to the participants and attended the Club’s briefing on driving route. The Royal Thai Embassy rendered its support to the project every year by providing the Embassy’s meeting room for the Club’s driving route’s briefing and its driveway as the flag-off location for the drive. The activity plays an important role in promoting confidence in travelling in Thailand, and the country’s image among motorists in the region.
