26 May 2016  - Ambassador Tana Weskosith presided over the opening of the Thai Pavilion at the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale.
The Thai Pavilion exhibited at the 15th Venice  Architecture Biennale is a project of the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King.  With the title “Class of 6.3,” it demonstrates the designs of nine village schools that were rebuilt after a devastating earthquake struck Chiang Rai Province in 2014. The projects were completed by nine Thai architects that are internationally recognized.
The theme of the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale is “Reporting from the Front,” posing the question: how can architecture meet the people’s needs when facing the constraints placed by their existing environment ?  In this regard, the Thai Pavilion displays examples of modern Thai architecture making a difference in the betterment of daily lives at the frontline of disaster zones.
