On 16th May 2016, H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Ota, Former Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, and Mr. Kazuhiko Kurata, Counselor of Japan Professional Sports Association paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, to discuss about possibility that Thailand and Japan jointly organize "Sumo Match" in Thailand in June 2017. The activity is aimed to be a part the Celebration on the 130th Year of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Japan. Ambassador agreed to do his utmost to support the event.
