            On 11 May 2016, Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, accompanied by Mr. Narat Vidayananda, Consul, visited members of Thai Community from Fort McMurray, who fled the forest fire and sought temporary stay in Edmonton, Alberta. The purpose of this visit was to follow up on the Thai evacuees’ well-being, their living condition, as well as to find further ways and means to assist them. Participated also in the meeting were Mr. Dennis Anderson, the Honorable Consul-General to Edmonton, and Ms. Annie McKitrick, Member of Legislative Assembly, Alberta.
            The visit was welcomed and well received. All the Thai evacuees were safe and in good spirit. The Consul-General assured them of the readiness of the Government of Thailand to assist them through all means necessary. She also expressed her appreciation to the Honorable Consul-General Anderson, MLA McKitrick, as well as members of the Thai Community in Edmonton for their close cooperation in providing the Thai evacuees with necessary care and assistance. During the meeting, Ms. Annie McKitrick, a good Friend of Thailand, informed the Thai evacuees about the various types of assistance available from the Government of Canada, the Government of Alberta, and the Canadian Red Cross as well as related procedures.
            On this occasion, the Consul-General also hosted dinner and provided dried food and snacks from Thailand to support the Thai evacuees.
