H.E. Mr. Thongchai Chasawath, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, attended the opening ceremonies of the temporary exhibitions of the 2,000-year-old ancient Buddhist Bamiyanmanuscripts,which were discovered in caves near the historic Buddha statuesin Bamiyan, Afghanistan,on 19 March 2016 at Singapore Buddhist Federation, and on 20 March 2016 at Wat Ananda MetyaramaThai Buddhist Temple in Singapore.
Venerable Phrabrommasith, Buddhist Minister of Overseas Thai Missionary Office, brought the ancient Buddhist manuscripts to Singapore as a stopover for the exhibition tour around ASEAN countries to pay homage to H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and H.M. Queen Sirikit of the Kingdom of Thailand, and to enhance the good relations among Buddhists in ASEAN countries.
