On March 18, 2016 H.E. Mr. Masahiko Shibayama, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan in charge of security issues and electoral reform, along with H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Both sides exchanged views on Thailand’s political situation, and the enhancement of Thailand’s business environment. They also discussed Thai – Japanese cooperation in security affairs, Japan’s new ‘Proactive Contribution to Peace’ policy, and other regional security issues such as the situation in the South China Sea and the Korean Peninsula.
