On 11 March 2016, Mr. Apichart Chinwanno, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand visited Japan to attend the 6th Japan-Thailand Political Partnership Consultations or JTPPC with Mr. Shinsuke Sugiyama, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs to discuss bilateral issues between Japan and Thailand, as well as how to further promote the cooperation on regional and international issues. On this occasion, the Permanent Secretary paid a courtesy call on Dr. Hiroto Izumi, Special Advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister (Economics Affairs) and Mr. Seiji Kihara, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan. He also met and exchange views with his counterpart, Mr. Akitaka Saiki, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.
