On 25 December 2015, H.E. Mr. Loechai Jantarasombat, Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. of Thailand participated in the sports competition with the Thai students and Thai community in Islamabad. Over 160 participants comprising Thai students from International Islamic University, Islamabad, Madrassah Zakariya Masjid in Rawalpindi, the Embassy’s and Team Thailand’s officials including their families, and Thai community participated in the event. Football, Sepaktakraw, and Badmintion competition were organized for male participants while chairball, volleyball, and other sport activities such as speed eating race and sack race were organized for female. This sports competition is held to promote unity and harmony among Thai students and strengthen ties with Embassy’s officials and Thai community in Islamabad as well as encouraging the students to play sports.
