On 4 December 2015, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Ivica Dačić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Serbia on the sideline of the 22th OSCE Ministerial Council held in Belgrade between 3-4 December 2015.
Both sides mutually agreed on enhancing Thailand and Serbia bilateral relations especially in terms of economic cooperation and tourism. Regarding tourism, Belgrade has potential to be the center for tourism in the Balkans while Thailand is becoming a more popular tourist destination among Serbians as a country abundant with natural and cultural attractions. On economic aspect, Thai entrepreneurs are also encouraged to invest in Serbia, especially in the food industry sector, as Serbia has potential to be a food production center in the Balkans.
On this occasion, an Agreement on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports between Thailand and Serbia was signed in order to promote more contact and interaction between each other. The First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia welcomed the signing of the Agreement with a view that it would greatly help move forward bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Serbia in the future.
