On 4 December 2015, “An Evening with Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra: A Tribute to His Majesty the King” was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to celebrate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 88^th Birthday Anniversary on 5 December. H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the event, which was attended by approximately 300 guests, comprising the members of diplomatic corps, international organizations, and foreign chambers of commerce, as well as distinguished guests from private and public sectors.

            The performance by Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra included Royal Compositions by His Majesty the King and some classical numbers, as well as Thai folk songs. Another highlight of the event was the Exhibition on “Sufficiency Economy for Sustainable Development” by Thailand Sustainable Development Foundation. These two activities attest to His Majesty the King’s musical talent and his life-long dedication to improving the quality of life of his beloved Thai people. 

            The Ministry of Foreign Affairs annually organizes activities to celebrate the Birthday Anniversaries of their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand. Apart from paying tribute to Their Majesties, these celebrations also help promote the uniqueness of Thai culture as well as raise awareness of talented young Thai classical musicians to a wider scope of audience.
