            On 2 December 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra organized the Celebration of 88th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Sala Thai.  More than 350 guests attended the reception including Mr. Steven Ciobo, Minister for International Development and Pacific, Mr. Craig Chittick, First Assistant Secretary, South-East Asia Mainland & Regional Division, Mr. Allaster Cox, First Assistant Secretary, South-East Asia Maritime Division, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), diplomatic corps, and representatives from public and private sectors, and the 2016 New Colombo Plan scholars for Thailand.
 
            Mr. Michael Googan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, was the representative of DFAT to propose a toast to His Majesty the King and the people of Thailand.  Then, H.E. Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin ,  Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, proposed a toast to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the people of Australia, and gave a speech on this auspicious occasion.
 
            The guests enjoyed very much the beautiful display of Thai Fruit Craving and Thai foods that the Embassy prepared for them.
