On 27 November 2015, H.E. Mr. Gilles Garachon, Ambassador of France to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of assuming his duty as the Ambassador of France to Thailand.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed his condolences on the terrorist attacks in Paris on 13 November 2015. Ambassador Gilles said on behalf of President François Hollande that France is greatly touched by His Majesty the King’s and Her Majesty the Queen’s Royal messages of condolences. The Ambassador of France also expressed his appreciation to the Royal Thai Government for its condolences message while being grateful to the good will and well wishes for France from all parts of Thai society.
Both sides also discussed on the preparation for the 21st United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties meeting (UNFCCC COP 21) in Paris which General Prayuth Chan-ocha, Prime Minister, is due to attend from 29 November - 2 December 2015.
