On 26 November 2015, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Halgaš, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of completing his tenure of office in Thailand.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand expressed his appreciation for the Slovak Ambassador’s important role in promoting Thai-Slovak relations, which have been cordial in both the bilateral and multilateral frameworks during his term. Both sides recognized that there was still ample room for further development in the Thai-Slovak economic cooperation, especially in the promotion of trade and investment in automotive industry (Slovak Republic is a major car manufacturer in Central Europe) as well as food industry and tourism. Both sides, therefore, agreed to move forward the bilateral cooperation, especially economic relations by further discussing issues concerning the promotion of trade and investment during the Political Consultations between Thailand and Slovak Republic. The Slovak side proposed to hold the said meeting at a mutually convenient time in 2016.
