On 11 November 2015, 10 Thai youth representatives to the ASEAN Young Leaders Summit 2015, met with Mr. Jakkrit Srivali, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, was to present their views and expectations on the upcoming ASEAN Community. The meeting also aimed to help the Thai youth representatives in their preparations for the ASEAN Young Leaders Summit 2015, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during 18-20 November 2015, in conjunction with the 27th ASEAN Summit.
After the session, the Director-General of Department of ASEAN Affairs and the Director-General of Department of Children and Youth jointly held a Press Briefing on the ASEAN Young Leaders Summit.
The ASEAN Young Leaders Summit 2015 is an initiative of Malaysia under her ASEAN Chairmanship in 2015. It not only provides a platform for young leaders in ASEAN to meet and discuss issues of challenges faced by the youths in 5 aspects, namely; leadership, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, education, and employment but also aims at forging a network among ASEAN youths. Each ASEAN Member States nominates 10 youth representatives to attend the Summit. Thailand’s youth representatives are (1) Ms. Maifang Sakdiset (2) Ms. Netchanok Tonggon (3) Mr. Chayawat Thongkrua (4) Mr. Jarernrat Srimaohtongsuk (5) Ms. Supharada Phasataroj (6) Mr. Phiratphong Chomsiri (7) Ms. Phattarawadee Thaneerat (8) Ms. Sutthida Ranob (9) Mr. Pantakan Prakopsuk and (10) Ms. Porramapa Sirisambhandh.
