Official Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand of the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

        H.E. Mr. Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of
Sri Lanka, and his delegation comprising Ministers and business delegates will pay an
Official Visit to Thailand from 1-4 November 2015 by the invitation of H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha,
Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.

        The visit will highlight the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between
Thailand and Sri Lanka this year. To commemorate this special occasion, the President of the
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka will bring the Buddha’s Relics from the historical
Mahiyangana Rajamaha Viharaya for exposition which will be open to the public to pay homage at Putthamonthon
from 2 - 16 November 2015. In addition, Pirith chanting will be conducted by 60 Sri Lankan senior monks and
the President will present a Buddha Statue to the Royal Thai Government, as a gift for this special occasion,
at Dhammaram temple in Ayutthaya which was the residence temple of Phra U-bali Mahathera before he went to Sri Lanka in 1755.

       During the visit, the Prime Minister and the President of Sri Lanka will discuss bilateral issues such as
ways and means to promote cultural relations, trade and investment, tourism as well as cooperation in
regional and multilateral spheres. They will also witness the signing of MOU on Technical Cooperation
between the Royal Thai Government and the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka,
and will exchange commemorative stamps.

        In addition, the President and Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak are scheduled to deliver keynote addresses
and remarks at the Thai-Sri Lankan Business Forum with the presence of both Sri Lankan and Thai business delegations.

        This Official Visit will serve to cement the long-standing amicable relations between the two countries and peoples.
