Guadalajara’s economy is the third largest in Mexico, after Mexico City and Monterrey. Guadalajara has been successful in attracting foreign investments, positioning itself as a hub for international commerce and investment as well as a Gateway to Asia, thanks to its strategic location near the Pacific Ocean. At present, Cathay Pacific operates cargo flights between Hong Kong and Guadalajara. Main industries of Guadalajara are information technology, medicine, automotive and food. There is a great potential for Thai exports such as rubber, machinery for food processing industry, processed food as well as medical devices. Interesting regional products of Guadalajara are, for instance, chia, avocado, avocado oil, avocado pulp and tequila.
