On the occassion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand - Singapore diplomatic relations, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, the Prime Minister of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Don Pradmudwinai, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent congratulatory messages to the Prime Minister of Singapore and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, respectively, as follows

1. Message from the Prime Minister of Thailand to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore to commemorate the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Thailand.

On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency, my warm felicitations and congratulations on the laudable occasion of the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore, on 20 September 2015.

Over the past fifty years, Thailand and Singapore have stood side by side in overcoming many difficult domestic and regional challenges, cementing closer the bonds of friendship between our two countries.  This unique relationship has been underscored by a common vision for a stable and prosperous region, which continuously nourishes our efforts for an ASEAN Community based on mutually beneficial cooperation.

As our two countries journey together towards the next decade of friendship, the Royal Thai Government affirms its determination to work even more closely with the Government of Singapore in elevating this partnership for a more promising future for our peoples, our region, and the international community.

I look forward to welcoming you on an official visit to Thailand at a mutually convenient date.

2. Message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law of the Republic of Singapore to commemorate the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Thailand.

I am pleased to extend to Your Excellency my warmest felicitations and congratulations on the special occasion of the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore on 20 September 2015.

Thailand was among the very first countries that established relations with Singapore five decades ago.  Since that time, the ties of friendship and relations between our two countries have blossomed in all dimensions.  The relations between Thailand and Singapore have stood the test of time from domestic and regional challenges, developing into a strong and comprehensive partnership today.

The celebration of the Golden Jubilee between Thailand and Singapore is a time to reflect on past successes and to envisage together the building of a more prosperous and promising future for our two countries and peoples, as well as the ASEAN Community.  I am fully confident that, with the solid foundation in the relations built by our founding fathers, the partnership between our two countries will continue to be further deepened and expanded in the next decade and beyond.  In this regard, I look forward to working closely with you to achieving this end.

I am also pleased to be hosting a reception co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Embassy of Singapore in Bangkok to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of our diplomatic relations on the evening of 21 December 2015 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
