On 12 September 2015, Royal Thai Embassy together with other six ASEAN Embassies in Brasilia, namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam hosted the ASEAN Food and Cultural Festival at the Thai Ambassador’s residence.

 

            The event featured the showcases of tourism, cultural performances, culinary, local artifacts and handicrafts of each ASEAN member country as well as ASEAN quizzes consisting of questions about ASEAN as an organization and the member countries represented in Brasilia.

Thai food, cultural performance and the demonstration of Muay Thai from Brazilian League of Traditional Mauy Thai were presented during the event to promote and raise awareness about Thailand. Thai and Brazilian business people in Brasilia also sold clothes and food products from Thailand to the visitors.

 

            The successful event entertained more than 1,500 people, including Brazilian congresspersons, high-ranking officials from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations, Ambassadors and officials of diplomatic corps in Brasilia as well as local media.
