On 5 – 6 September 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw organized the event “Discover Thainess through Muaythai” with a view to strengtheningThai-Polish ties through Muaythai, the global “Muaythai against Drugs”campaign andthe aspiration to propel Muaythai as an international sport, ahead of the World Games in 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland where it will become an official part for the first time.
On 5 September, the Royal Thai Embassy together with Polish Muaythai Federation and Muaythai Kingdom camp organized a workshop for the youth and Muaythai enthusiast, in cooperation withMr. Rafal Simonides, a former World Muaythai Council champion and coach of Polish national Muaythai team.
On 6 September, the Royal Thai Embassy organized an event at the educational and Cultural center (Stołeczne Centrum EdukacjiKulturalnej—SCEK) attended by Ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions,Dr. MieczyslawBigoszewski, Youth Sport and Olympic Hopes Commission, officialsof the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Mr. RafalSzlachta, President of the Polish Muaythai Federation, Mr. Rafal Simonides, former Muaythai Champion, and Mr. PrzemyslawSaleta, former kickboxerchampion, other distinguished guests from various Polish cities and the general public were presented.
The event comprises various kinds of activities. Well-known Thai restaurants in Warsaw served some of their delicacies. Traditional Thai therapists offered massages.The Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Polish top travel agencieswere present to promote tourism.Import-export companyalso participated to promote some Thai products.During the event, participants were also able to enjoy performances from “Muay Thai Live: the Legend Live”, a famous action and dance company from Bangkok.
The “Discover Thainess through Muaythai” event was coveredby TVP Warszawa, a popular local Polish TV channel, during the evening newson 6 September.
