On 7 September 2015, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, launched a campaign entitled the “Panithan D for the auspicious years” campaign for the Monarchy and the Nation initiated by the Thai Government. This campaign offers opportunities for the Thai people to pledge their good deeds to His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen and other members of the Royal Family during the auspicious years of 2015 – 2017.
During the opening ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Minister underscored that this campaign would be an opportunity for the Thai people to do good things with determination. If Thai People are willing to do more goodness, this would be a driving force for Thailand’s reform process. On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, senior executives and officials of the Foreign Ministry also wrote their pledges of good deeds on leaf-shaped cards and hung them on the tree named “Ton Mai Kwam Dee (The Tree of Virtue)”
The years 2015 – 2017 are the auspicious years of the Thai Monarchy. The year 2015 is marking the 88th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King and the 60th Birthday Anniversary of H.R.H. Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The year 2016 will mark the 70th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne, the 7th cycle Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen and the 65th Birthday Anniversary of Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi. The Year 2017 will mark His Majesty the King’s 90th Birthday Anniversary, H.R.H. Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 65th Birthday Anniversary and H.R.H. Princess Chulabhorn Walailak’s 60th Birthday Anniversary.
