On 11 August 2015, H.E. Mr. Klas Molin, Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of completing his duty in Thailand.
Both sides discussed the way to promote the relationship between Thailand and Sweden which will celebrate the 150th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2018. They also emphasised the close cooperation between Thailand and Sweden especially economic relations, security, tourism and people-to-people relations.
H.E. Mr. Molin expressed his understanding on political development in Thailand and Thailand’s resolution in solving the problem related to the international issues such as human trafficking. Furthermore, he expressed appreciation to Thailand for the hospitality extended to Swedish tourists and those residing in Thailand. In each year, the average number of Swedish tourists who are the longest -stay group of European tourists in Thailand is 300,000, most of them are considered the longest-stay European tourists in Thailand.
H.E. Mr. Molin served as Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand since August 2011 until August 2015.
