On 24^th June 2015, H.E. Mr. Hazem Elsayed Badawy Elthary, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the assumption of his duty.

                         During the meeting, both sides exchanged the views on how to promote closer bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as economic and trade ties. They acknowledged that Egypt can be a gateway for Thailand towards cooperation with Middle East and North Africa, while Thailand can play a role as a key linkage between Egypt and ASEAN. Furthermore, both sides are looking forward to enhance cooperation on tourism and people-to-people exchange and collaboration to support the approximately 2,500 Thai students studying in Egypt.

                         On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs extended his invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt to pay an official visit to Thailand and co-chair the 3^rd Thai-Egypt Joint Commission meeting, which will be hosted by Thailand.
