            The Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal, hosted a cultural event "Thai Festival 2015 in Portugal between 27-29 March 2015 when 10 professional Thai traditional performers, led by Professor Dr. Surat Jongda. from College of Dramatic Arts (Bunditpatanasilpa) Institute, Ministry of Culture of Thailand, traveled directly from Thailand to perform genuine traditional Thai performances in Lisbon.
 
             On 27-28 March, the Embassy, in partnership with the Orient Foundation, jointly hosted the event "Amazing Thailand : Traditional Performances from the Kingdom of Siam" at the auditorium of the Orient Museum. The sold-out audience of more than 800 spectators witnessed 11 performances, including two episodes of Khon "Ramayana", numerous folkloric dances from different regions of Thailand, and the special show "Thai-Portugal Friendship Dance".
Among the guests at the Orient Musuem were Dom Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza, Mr. Carlos Monjardino, President of the Orient Foundation, diplomatic corps, high-ranking representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, public and private sectors, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Rome, members of cultural institutions and Thai community, as well as the Portuguese public.
 
            On 29 March 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon, in partnership with Hotel Tivoli Lisboa, hosted a Thai dinner and cultural performances at Restaurant Terraço. Around 65 guests attended the activities, including diplomatic corps, businesspeople, executives of the hotel, the Embassy's diplomats, officials from Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Representative of TAT in Portugal as well as the Portuguese public.
 
            The guests were treated with exquisite Thai dishes prepared by chefs of the Thai Ambassador and the hotel, including hot and sour shrimp soup (Tom Yam Koong), minced chicken in golden bags (tung thong), tiger shrimp in tamarind sauce (pla rad sauce makham), taro and pumpkin in tamarind sauce (bua loy puek-fakthong) as well as a special Thai-Portuguese fusion dish: Kaeng Kiew Wan Pla Cod (codfish in green curry).
 
            The activity also included authentic and exclusively-selected Thai cultural performances from a professional dance troupe from Bunditpatansilpa Institute (College of Dramatic Arts), Ministry of Culture, much to the delight of the diners.
