On 12 April 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon organized Mobile Dhamma Service and Songkran Celebration at ASSOCIAÇÃO CULTURAL E DE DESENVOLVIMENTO ECONÓMICO E SOCIAL DE BREJÃO in Sao Teotonio.

 

            The activity, attended by around 200 Thais living in Portugal, included a Dhamma Talk, conducted by Ven. Ajahn Vajiro, Head of Theravada Monastery in Ericeira, together with 2 bhikkhus from the Monaster, a merit making ceremony, followed by bathing rite on the Buddha image and pouring water onto the hands of the bhikkhus and the elders for blessing on this auspicious occasion.

 

            The participants also enjoyed a number of activities, such as Miss Songkran Beauty Contest, Thai folk dances and plays.
