            On 28 March 2015, H.E. Mr. Saroj Chavanaviraj, Secretary General of Thailand Foundation and Former Foreign Minister of Thailand, together with H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup and Prof. Dr. Vo Quang Trong, Director of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, presided over the opening ceremony of “Thai Cultural Weekend” at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. 
 
            The Royal Thai Embassy, Hanoi, in cooperation with Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, the Thailand Foundation and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology organized “Thai Cultural Weekend” on 28 – 29 March 2015 with an aim to introduce the Vietnamese public to various aspects of Thai artistic dance movements from different regions of the Kingdom as well as to promote the people-people relations between Thailand and Vietnam. Moreover, this event is aimed to marks the beginning of the series of events to implement the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between Thailand and Vietnam which was signed during the official visit to Vietnam of H.E. General Prayuth Chan-Ocha, Prime Minister of Thailand in November 2014.
 
            At the event, more than 25 artists from Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, performed both traditional and contemporary performances including the Worshipping the God King Dance, the Candle Lotus Dance Norah Dance, Khon: The Pursuit of Supanna Matcha, the Cockfighting Dance and the Dance of the Four Regions. 
 
            The event was successful in term of promoting the Thai artistic excellence and with great response and enthusiasm from more than 2,000 guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, local people, students, foreign tourists and members of the press, towards the beauty of each performance.
