The Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the Ministry of Culture organized Thai Cultural Roadshow in France during 1 - 2 March 2015. The Roadshow brought in a dance troupe from Bunditpatanasilpa Institute and handicraft demonstrators to showcase Thai culture and art; such as, traditional Thai and folk dance, flower garland making, handkerchief/napkin folding, umbrella painting and traditional Thai textile weaving.

The roadshow, with the support by the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris, was held first at the Musée du Quai Branly on 1 March 2015, and again on the next day at INALCO (Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales) with a variety of audiences. The attendees at the Musée du Quai Branly were diplomatic corps, International Organization officers, local dignitaries, business people and the Thai community.  At INALCO, the audiences were academicians, professors and students of the Institute and those interested in Thai and oriental culture. The performances were very much well-received by the audience.  The handicraft demonstrations attracted a large interesting crowd as well.

In addition to promoting Thailand and enhancing Thailand’s popularity and image abroad, the above-mentioned activities aimed to celebrate 3 auspicious occasions namely: 1) the Celebration of the 2nd April 2015 ,the 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s, the patron of Thai culture, art, history and archaeology. 2) the realisation of ASEAN Community in 2015, which inspired the dance troupe to perform ASEAN dance, portraying ASEAN member countries cultures in a united way. 3) the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of UNESCO as well as the 140th Anniversary of the Thai language taught at INALCO.
