On Sunday, 8 March 2015, Mr. Aroon Jivasakapimas, Consul-General, along with Mr. Patt Padhamachit, Deputy Consul-General, and Ms. Usa Sridhoop, Vice Consul (Labour), presided over the 2015 International Women’s Day for Thai Community at Regal Oriental Hotel, Kowloon. The event, organized by Thai Migrant Workers’ Union (TMWU) in Hong Kong, was partly sponsored by Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong. It intended to honour women's advancement and to ensure that women's equality is gained and maintained in all aspects of life. During his opening speech, the Consul-General praised the TMWU for organizing the event and encouraged the joint efforts by all parties to empower female workers for sustainable development.

 

            The Consul-General had also taken this opportunity to discuss about cooperation between Thai workers unions and Hong Kong Unions with Mr. Pun Tin Chai, Chairman of Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions, and Ms. Cheung Lai Ha, Secretary-General of Retail, Commerce and Clothing Industries General Union.
