On 2 March 2015, General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs had bilateral dialogues during the High-Level Segment of the 28th Session on the Human Rights Council (HRC-28) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs placed an emphasis on the relationship between human rights, development and security, especially in processes to formulate the post-2015 development agenda. He argued that the fruits of sustainable development must be shared by all parts of society. This includes in particular children, women, disable persons, older persons, as well as migrants. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted an example of the government’s policy on registration of irregular migrants that aimed to have them better protected and have greater access to essential socials services.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need to strengthen technical cooperation among reagent parties and support work of the Human Rights Council to make it credible, effective and relevant and beneficial to the people on the ground.
