Thai Ambassador to Maldives met and discussed with Police Commissioner of Maldives

H.E. Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Thai Ambassador to Maldives met and discussed with Mr. Hussain Waheed, Police Commissioner of Maldives on 29 January 2015 and expressed his gratitude to the Maldivian Police Service for facilitating and expediting the investigation of the cases which Thai nationals involved in Maldives. Subsequently, the Thai offenders have been repatriated to Thailand without being sued or imprisoned in Maldives. H.E. Nopporn and Mr. Hussain also discussed about the possible future cooperation between Thailand and Maldives in the field of police. The Maldivian Police Service requested assistance from Thailand to train Maldives’ police officers in three areas as follows:
(1) commando training or SWAT unit training
(2) forensic training
(3) martial arts for self-defense training.
