On 6 February 2015, H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, met with Mr. Carlos Eduardo Abijaodi, the Director of Industrial Development of Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI).  

 

            Ambassador Charnbhumidol took this opportunity to congratulate CNI for being the host of the forthcoming vocational youths’ competition, the 43th WorldSkills São Paulo 2015, which will be held in São Paulo from 11 to 16 August 2015. He further informed that 70 Thai vocational youths would participate in 23 contests. 

            

            Moreover, the Ambassador exchanged views with the Director on how both sides could develop industrial cooperation as well as trade and investment promotion. CNI and the Federation of Thai Industries could initiate cooperation in the form of Memorandum of Understanding in the near future. The Ambassador also pointed out that Thailand together with other ASEAN member countries would become an ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of 2015. The AEC will help increase the free flows of capital, goods, services, investment and skilled labor that will further boost economic growth of Thailand and ASEAN as well as prosperity of the whole region.
