On 11 February 2015, Mr. Khaga Nath Adhikari, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of his assumption of duty.
During the discussion, both sides explored ways and means to further enhance bilateral cooperation in all areas including technical cooperation, trade, investment and tourism, human trafficking and people-to-people contact. They also took note with satisfaction the special bonds of friendship between Thailand and Nepal, which is connected through the path of Buddhism. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thailand expressed readiness of the Royal Thai Government to launch a construction of general hospital project in Lumbini to provide medical service to both Nepalese locals as well as Thai pilgrims.
In addition, both sides stressed the importance of security cooperation and the possibility of having an MoU of cooperation as a framework between security agencies of both countries was proposed by the Nepalese ambassador.
