On 29 January 2015, Ms. Panpimon Suwannapongse, Thai Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City attended the house handover ceremony for Mr. Hoang Van Toan, a disadvantaged person in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Chanh District. The Thai Consulate-General together with the Thai community provided financial contribution worth VND 50,000,000 (equivalent to THB 75,000) to sponsor the building of the house that was given to Mr. Hoang. This activity is part of the collaboration between the Thai Consulate-General and the Ho Chi Minh Union of Friendship Organization (HUFO).

On this occasion, Ms. Suwannapongse mentioned that due to the close ties between Thailand and Vietnam, many Thai people have come to work in Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh City. They all want to contribute to the community development of the area they are living in.

The ceremony stands firmly as a clear evidence of the deepening relations between Thailand and Vietnam as a result of the collaboration from many sectors – both Thai and Vietnamese- who are keen to help disadvantaged Vietnamese.
