            On 15 November 2014, H.E. Mrs. Kanthong Unakul, Thai Ambassador to Nepal and Mr. Chakraphan Yuwari, First Secretary, joined the inauguration ceremony of International Buddhist Conference on Promotion, Protection and Preservation of Buddhist Culture and Heritage in Lumbini which was held during 15-18 November 2014.  H.E . Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, President of Nepal presided over the ceremony and also present at the Ceremony were  Mr. Prakash Man Singh Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr. Deepak Chandra Amatya Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Soe Win Minister of Religious Affairs of Myanmar, Mr T.B. Ekanayaka  Minister of Culture and Art of Sri Lanka,  Most. Ven. Dr. Ashin Nyanissara from Myanmar, Most Ven. Dr. Jnanapurnik from Nepal, Ven. Dr. Sagandha,  Ven. Acharaya Karma Sanbo Sherpa Vice chairman, Lumbini Development Trust, Mr. Christian Manhart UNECO country representative, and  Ambassadors and representatives, as well as Buddhist Monks and  Nuns from various Buddhist countries. Approximately 600 guests attended the said ceremony.
