On 29October 2014, H.E. Mr. PitchayaphantCharnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil welcomed Mrs. Sandro Luiz Marciano, President of Brazilian League of Traditional Muay Thai, and around 60 members at the Thai Embassy, as well as Mr. DeawPatsanon,Muay Thai coach, whowas invited by the League to comefrom Thailand to trainMuay Thai for Brazilian learners in 5 States of Brazil during October – November 2014. In this occasion, the O GLobo TV crew filmed a report on the practices of Muay Thai of League’s members for further broadcasting to the Brazilian public.

 

            At present, the Embassy estimates that there are approximately 30,000-40,000 Muay Thai learners who train for various purposes such as to becomeprofessional boxer, for self defenceor physical exercise in any fitness centers throughout Brazil.
