Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil gives a Lecture to students of University of Catholic Brasilia (UCB)

            On 30 October 2014, H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant  Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil was invited by Dr. Leila Bijos, Professor  of the Faculty of International Laws of the University of Catholic Brasilia to give a lecture on “ East Asian Security : Challenges of Strategic Engagement” to around 50 senior and junior students of UCB. Ambassador Pitchayaphant highlighted developments and dynamism of international relations among countries in the Latin American and Asian regions and beyond, as well as global major powers. The successful regional integration of the countries in Southeast Asia which will culminate in 2015 into the ASEAN Economic Community. Ambassador Pitchayaphant explained also the active and responsible roles of Thailand toward the Asian region and international fora.
     
            In addition, Ambassador Pitchayaphant stressed the timely opportunity and potential of both Latin America and Southeast Asia to enhance and expand more cooperation in various fields of mutual interest. Brazil has more than 200 million people and Southeast Asian countries together with more than 600 million people when link closely would become greater markets and investment destinations for one another.
