On 22 September 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with EWA’A Shelters for Victims of Human Trafficking, organized a charity gala dinner called “One Night in Bangkok” at Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara.  Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, UAE’s “Mother of the Nation”, the event aimed to promote high-end Thai cuisine and Thai tourism in the UAE, along with raising Thailand’s profile on combating human trafficking.

The dinner was prepared by 4 celebrity chefs from Thailand, namely Chef Jamnong Nirungsan, President of Thai Chefs Association; Chef Chumpol Jaengprai, former “Iron Chef Thailand” and Co-Founder of MSC Thai Cuisine Academy; Chef Prin Polsuk of Nahm Restaurant, Bangkok, which was ranked 13th best restaurant by World’s 50 Best Restaurants Magazine; and Chef Dylan Jones, co-owner of the Bo.lan Restaurant.  In addition, guests were entertained by contemporary jazz music from Koh Mr. Saxman and his band, whose participation were supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

The successful gala dinner attracted some 150 participants. Guest of Honour was His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director-General of Department of East Asia, UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and nephew of UAE President.
