The Thai Ambassador exchanged views on closer Thai-Russian relations with the Russian Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Thailand

            On 4 September 2014, H.E. Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation hosted a working lunch for H.E. Mr. Kirill Barsky, Ambassador-appointed of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Thailand, together with Mr. Andrey Tatarinov, Director of the Third Department of Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and relevant officers, at the Residence of the Thai Ambassador.
 
             The Working Lunch was hosted for the two Ambassadors to exchange views on the future of the Thai-Russian Federation. Both Ambassadors stressed their supports to realize a large number of initiatives, including the setting up branches of Thai commercial bank in Russia to facilitate trade and investment, the role of Russia in supporting and utilizing the enhanced ASEAN connectivity, with Thailand as potential gateway for Russia to Southeast Asia, exchange of high-level business visits, and the reaffirmed role of Russia in assuring energy security for Thailand.
 
             H.E. Mr. Kirill Barsky is expected to leave the Russia Federation for his Ambassadorship to Thailand in late September or October 2014.
