               On 27 August 2014, H.E. Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, at the Foundation’s office in Bangkok. ฺBoth side discussed about the initiative of the Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo in providing the technical assistance on water treatment in Hamilton Canal. On the same occasion, the Thai Ambassador also consulted with the Secretary-General about the plan of the Embassy to invite Hon. Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development of Sri Lanka, to visit the Royal Development Projects in Thailand next year. Both projects will strengthen the bilateral relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka and promote the developmental works of His Majesty King Bhumibol to the Sri Lankan public.
 
             Chaipattana Foundation was established as a non-governmental organization in 1988 to promote and support sustainable development in Thailand and overseas. His Majesty the King acts as the Honorary President.
